Remember, Remember, Remember

These full moments. These life giving moments. These are the moments. More of these moments.

The big pile of leaves in your backyard at that little home in Pleasant Hill.

Remember the popsicles you ate only on the 4th of July. Dancing between eating them quick enough so they wouldn’t melt down your hand, while also not getting a brain freeze.

Remember the sun on your skin as you lay in the backyard. Smell of freshly cut grass and hot humid air.

Remember bonfires down the gravel road and fishing at the family friend’s pond.

Remember cutting down the Christmas tree at Murphy’s and the smell of fresh pine.

Remember the silent Christmas morning where you went on a snowy drive with your dad before anyone was awake.

Remember the hot wood fire at your Grandparents in the middle of July.

Remember that first kiss at the movie night in the 6th grade.

Remember the taste of a hot funnel cake at the Iowa State Fair.

Remember coming out from the dressing room after dance recital, being met by a loud roar of celebrations, hugs and the smell of flowers.

Remember, remember, remember.
